State: Missouri
Coordinate: 37° 0' N, 91° 1' W
Latlng basis: based on nearby landmark
Geography comments: "in Carter, Reynolds, and Shannon counties" roughly centered on Van Buren (basis of coordinate)
Environment
Habitat: temperate broadleaf/mixed forest

Habitat comments: "The nine study sites are large and average 400 ha in size... Oaks... occupy the canopy... At the start of the MOFEP project in 1990, most of the overstory trees were 50–70 years old" and sites "were largely free from timber harvest or habitat manipulation for at least 40 years prior to the beginning of the study" but three sites were periodically clearcut and three were selectively logged

Methods
Life forms: birds
Sampling methods: line transect, mist nets
Sample size: 306 individuals
Days: 2
Nets or traps: 1404
Net or trap nights: 2808
Basal area status: not applicable
Sampling comments: there were "13 netlines per site (117 total netlines). A netline consisted of 12 nets (12 m long with 30 mm mesh) placed at 50 m intervals along grid lines spaced 300 m apart. Netlines were operated for two consecutive days from dawn to noon for a total of about 120 net hrs per line. Netting occurred during the first 3 weeks of July"
